Responsibilities
- Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepares, conducts, and oversees orientation and training for departmental staff.
- Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, and administration both verbally and in writing.
- Oversees quality of care and staff performance during their shift, directing personnel as needed.
- Assists the Department Director in daily operations, supervising and evaluating staff, and ensuring efficient use of time, equipment, and resources.
- Performs direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice, continually assessing care and directing staff to adjust plans promptly.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid California Registered Nurse license
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of three year of Charge Nurse or equivalent experience preferred.
- Based on areas the following may be required:
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire and maintain current
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) upon hire and maintain current
- Current Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate upon hire and maintain current
